A VHS Video Tape
"Biker Escapades of the late sizties!"

Premiere Showing
Huge Success

The premiere showing of SFB70 "The Video" on Saturday, April 13th 2002, 6:00 p.m.
at the SFB Clubhouse, 932 Caledonia Street, LaCrosse, Wisconsin was a succuess in every way. A large crowd of SFB's and friends, including Sundowners watched this new release, in vhs format, of the old SFB70 8mm Movie.

There were many questions about the early SFB from the late sixties and early seventies.  Who were they?  Where were the first SFB houses?  Who did they ride with?  Several asked Phil to put together a narration of the movie and early history of the club.

The showing also prompted some current members to thinking about getting pictures and videos together of the SFB today and also of the 80's and 90's.

The version of the video at this showing did not have a soundtrack so sound was from the accompanying Set of 2 SFB70 CD's.

A version with soundtrack will be available by May 1, 2002 and is available by clicking here.   The silent version is also available here and CD's can be ordered separately.  You MUST be a member of the SFB to purchase at these prices.

SFB 70 "The Movie"
The original movie was on 8mm film with soundtrack on a reel-to-reel tape that required constant syncing as the movie playing.  Sync was 'pause' and FF on reel-to-reel tape and sometimes the 8mm projector.

For $25 per showing we would bring projector, screen, r-r tape player and a good crowd to bars in the early seventies.

The SFB probably spent more at the bar than we got for showing the movie.

We also showed SFB70 "The Movie" outdoors at parties, where we would pass the hat to help defray costs.

With this new version SFB70 "The Video" no constant syncing is required.  We just start the first audio CD at the same time as the video and stop the VCR after "Motorcycle Cowboy" (Before the CD restarts) and start the second CD at the end of the ticket burning scene.  When done the CD can continue to play as the video rewinds.

This new SBF70 format will allow many more to view and enjoy this old biker movie on any TV with a VCR.  The Audio CD's can be played on any CD player and so provide an additional dimension enjoyment.
